I left these photographs for the end of a long serie because they picture a place that really left a sign in my memories. A sort of source of inspiration, not only for photography.
It will probably sound cheesy, but before judging: imagine yourself in a place where there is nothing left, where the land is flat and empty. Before, there was a village, there were laughters and children. Now is simply flat.
But... What is left is a huge power of will. Will to reconstruct what has gone missing, learn from the catastrophe and spread the word around the world, in order to make people aware. Aware that the Fukushima area is not dead, the Tsunami and all following catastrophes didn't erase everything. It is still alive. They are rebuilding the villages with few people and tools, as the big construction companies left for Tokyo in order to start the preparation for Tokyo 2020. Their goal is to bring the younger generations back and especially improving the catastrophe education in schools for the future.
That empty school that you will see in my picture - which was still there more or less as after the Tsunami hit the village, has to be filled again with a lot of tiny people :)
If you want to see more nice picture from the area, visit for example the Facebook Page of the Usuiso Reconstruction Commitee. They welcomed us very warmly and it has been a very special day for everyone, Thank you!!!
After this long text, I finally leave you to my picture:
